PROGRAM · DUAL-USE EXTREME-ENVIRONMENT SYSTEMS INTEGRATION

VANGUARD. Evidence-driven technology maturation.

A 10-year structured R&D maturation program (2026–2036) advancing Reinventy's integrated technology stack from foundational building blocks to platform-scale demonstrators for civilian and industrial applications in severe operational environments.

THE FRAMEWORK

A structured maturation framework.

The VANGUARD Program operationalizes Reinventy's manufacturing and quality-assurance doctrines into a coherent multi-year activity producing evidence packages, integrated demonstrators, and certification-ready documentation. The program is structured around two sequential five-year phases, each building on the evidence base of the previous, and is governed by formal review gates (SRR, PDR, CDR, TRR, FRR) traceable to program-grade engineering practice.

The program's goal is not subsystem excellence in isolation — it is integrated-system credibility. VANGUARD takes proven technology building blocks (XHT structural ceramics, AeroMag soft-magnetic composites, Mag-FOC power electronics, RΣVENANT structural composites, multi-domain protection architectures) and matures them into platform-scale reference designs with transparent evidence chains compatible with partner due diligence and industrial certification pathways.

PHASE STRUCTURE

Two phases, ten years, escalating environmental severity.

VANGUARD is articulated in two sequential five-year programs, each addressing a distinct environment-severity envelope parameterized by aerothermal load, dynamic pressure, duration regime, and electromagnetic coupling characteristics.

PROGRAM A · YEARS 1–5 · E1 ENVELOPE

Severe aerothermal + resilient autonomy demonstrator

Environment severityHigh heat flux, high dynamic pressure, seconds-to-minutes duration regime, thermo-mechanical gradients with electromagnetic and thermal coupling.

OutputMaterial allowables and jointing doctrine for high-heat-flux structures; integrated electromagnetic drive stack demonstrator; resilient autonomy integration with safety case; sub-scale integrated demonstrator in representative environment; system-level qualification evidence package.

ApproachBuilding-block validation methodology (coupon → sub-component → article → integrated demonstrator) with formal gate reviews and verification matrices.

PROGRAM B · YEARS 6–10 · E2 ENVELOPE

Extreme aerothermal and plasma-coupling integrated system demonstrator

Environment severityExtreme heat flux with non-equilibrium plasma coupling, minutes-to-tens-of-minutes duration regime, thermo-chemical non-equilibrium, sensor survivability under combined stress fields.

OutputExtended-envelope evidence package; embedded sensing capability under extreme conditions; integrated demonstrator with program-grade verification and validation; industrial replicability assessment; partner-hosted scaling and production-readiness package.

ApproachPartner-hosted test ecosystem with strict data compartmentalization, extended environmental aging characterization, and qualification campaigns coordinated with industrial certification authorities.

REFERENCE ARCHITECTURE

A modular reference architecture.

VANGUARD adopts a modular architecture so each Reinventy technology can mature independently while enabling staged integration into demonstrators. The architecture is organized into four interface-controlled modules, each with its own verification methods and acceptance criteria.

ENERGY STORAGE ARCHITECTURE

Certified baseline energy modules with parallel-track maturation of advanced electrochemical chemistries gated by readiness criteria (cycle life, safety, thermal and mechanical integration, certification pathway clarity).

Primary technologiesBaseline certified packs with LIMAXA aluminium-ion chemistry as parallel R&D track (non-blocking for Program A baseline)

Verification methodsAbuse testing, cycle life characterization, thermal runaway prevention validation.

The modular architecture imposes interface-first discipline: ICDs (Interface Control Documents) define datums, bondlines, airgaps, electrical grounding pathways, and data exchange protocols before hardware integration. Every build is traceable through a digital thread linking lot identifiers, process logs, test results, and anomaly records — enabling change management, impact analysis, and partner-grade due diligence.

DISCLOSURE GOVERNANCE

Tiered disclosure under controlled-technology governance.

VANGUARD outputs are governed by a four-tier disclosure model that balances technical transparency with intellectual-property protection and export-control compliance:

  • 1. PUBLIC CONCEPT SUMMARY

Available on this site. Provides program context, modular architecture description, phase structure, and civilian-industrial application baseline.

  • 2. NDA TECHNICAL OVERVIEW

Available to vetted partners under non-disclosure agreement. Provides reference architecture detail, interface concepts, verification methodologies, and program governance documentation.

  • 3. GATED DATA ROOM

Available to vetted partners under NDA plus export-control screening and end-use declaration. Provides controlled technical-data packages, process windows, evidence packages, and test reports.

  • 4. MANUFACTURING RELEASE PACKAGES

Available only to production partners under contractual and clearance arrangements. Provides recipes, parameters, and full manufacturing documentation.

Before any external disclosure or shipment, export screening, end-use and end-user checks, and controlled-goods determinations are executed by Compliance, with records retention and auditability. Recipes, parameters, and quantitative test data remain compartmented; the site hosts only the public concept summary tier.

APPLICATION BASELINE

A civilian-industrial application baseline.

VANGUARD is designed and governed as a dual-use technology maturation program with a civilian and industrial application baseline. Representative civilian and industrial markets include:

  • Space-entry systems

Thermal protection systems and electromagnetic systems for atmospheric re-entry vehicles, sounding rockets, and atmospheric research platforms.

  • Atmospheric and extreme-environment research

Instrumented platforms for high-altitude atmospheric science, plasma physics characterization, and meteorological instrumentation.

  • Critical-infrastructure resilience

Electromagnetic-hardened systems for power grid infrastructure, telecommunications, and energy transmission resilience under environmental stress.

  • Extreme-environment industrial robotics

Autonomous and semi-autonomous platforms for harsh-environment industrial operations (high-temperature manufacturing, deep-mining inspection, offshore energy operations).

  • Maritime autonomy at platform scale

Integrated reference design for autonomous maritime platforms operating in severe sea-state and electromagnetic environments. See Integrated Maritime Autonomy for the V1.6-B reference application.

The Vanguard Program is structured as an evidence-driven technology maturation framework with a civilian and industrial application baseline. It is not a weapon design program and must not be used to enable weaponization or offensive employment. Any application in regulated sectors is subject to export control, end-use and end-user screening, compartmentalization, and contractual controls under non-disclosure agreement, controlled data-room access, and tiered disclosure governance.

POSITIONING

From subsystem excellence to integrated-system credibility.

VANGUARD's purpose is to move Reinventy's technology stack from subsystem-level technical excellence to integrated-system credibility — the level of evidence and verification that high-assurance customers, industrial certification authorities, and serious technology partners require for production-scale deployment.

The program produces, year over year, traceable evidence packages: controlled manufacturing doctrine with tolerance windows; coupon allowables correlated to microstructure; sub-component tests with representative interfaces; system-level integration tests with end-to-end data capture; configuration control with baseline freeze, versioning, and impact analyses.

This is evidence-driven technology maturation — applied at program scale across a ten-year maturation horizon.
