CRIOS
The pressure vessel that monitors its own integrity.
A clean-sheet Reinventy programme for a linerless composite pressure vessel with a tortuous-path permeation barrier and built-in integrity monitoring.
EARLY-STAGE R&D · BARRIER AND CRYOGENIC COUPONS ARE THE NEXT GATE

01 · The leap
From a separate liner to an architected vessel wall.
Linerless pressure vessels promise a decisive mass reduction, but hydrogen permeation and cryogenic microcracking remain open constraints. CRIOS explores one integrated wall: structural carbon composite, a tortuous-path barrier that lengthens the diffusion route, a cryogenic-tough matrix and a co-cured sensing network that looks for the first crack or leak signature.
02 · One vessel, three ambitions
Carry less. Contain more. Know sooner.
CRIOS's novelty path combines structural efficiency, a diffusion-control architecture and integrated self-monitoring in one governed vessel programme.
Carry
Pursue linerless composite construction so the containment architecture also performs the structural work.
Contain
Use an architected tortuous path to extend the hydrogen diffusion route without returning to a conventional liner.
Watch
Co-cure a sensing network that can flag the onset of microcracking or leakage for human review.
03 · Born inside Alchemi
Storage experience defines the failure modes. Alchemi governs the wall that must resist them.
Reinventy combines composite processing, cryogenic materials, structural sensing and sovereign edge interpretation. Alchemi coordinates barrier candidates, matrix trade spaces and sensing layouts while traceable coupons establish whether each mechanism survives pressure and temperature cycling.
04 · Civil pathways first
Hydrogen needs lighter storage with visible integrity.
Civil storage and transport create bounded, measurable routes to validate permeation, cycling and monitoring before any demanding scale-up.
Hydrogen transport
Lighter monitored containment for road, rail and marine hydrogen logistics.
Refuelling infrastructure
Pressure vessels for stations and distributed industrial hydrogen systems.
Industrial gases
Linerless containment pathways for high-pressure gases beyond hydrogen.
Cryogenic storage
Architected composite vessels for low-temperature liquid storage research.
05 · Evidence path
Containment begins with a traceable leak rate.
CRIOS advances only when barrier, matrix and sensing coupons produce repeatable evidence under declared pressure and temperature cycles.
Programme definition
Service environment, failure modes, evidence boundary and first coupon geometries are declared.
Barrier & cryogenic coupons
Measure permeation, microcracking and sensing response on traceable flat laminates.
Next gateSubscale vessel
Integrate barrier and sensing into a linerless pressure article and repeat cycling and leak tests.
Demonstrator
Transfer validated behaviour to a bounded civil hydrogen or cryogenic-storage demonstrator.
Build the evidence
A partner for the first physical CRIOS campaign.
Reinventy is interested in hydrogen laboratories, composite vessel manufacturers, cryogenic test facilities and structural-health-monitoring partners.
