Level | Responsibility | Key Duties |
---|---|---|
Board of Directors | Annual review of ESG KPIs, approve budget & targets | Ratify net‑zero roadmap, oversee risk register |
Chief Sustainability Officer (CSO) | Reports to CEO, chairs EMS Steering Committee | Implement ISO 14001 system, publish Sustainability Report |
Site General Managers | Facility‑level EMS, permits, EPR reporting | Maintain legal register, emergency preparedness |
Eco‑Champions (per site) | Employee engagement, data collection | Monthly KPI reporting, awareness training |
The EMS (Environmental Management System) is certified to ISO 14001:2015 and audited by a third‑party registrar (DNV‑GL). KPI assurance is externally verified to ISO 14064‑1:2018.

4 · Objectives & Targets (2025–2030)
Objective | 2025 Baseline | 2027 Target | 2030 Target |
GHG Scope 1+2 | 3 500 tCO₂e | −40 % | Net‑zero |
GHG Scope 3 (Cat.1,11,12) | 28 000 tCO₂e | −25 % | −60 % |
Renewable electricity | 45 % global | 80 % | 100 % |
Waste‑to‑landfill | 280 t | −50 % | Zero |
Water withdrawal (m³/MWh prod.) | 3.2 | 2.4 | 1.8 |
Recycled NdFeB in magnets | 0 % | 30 % | 70 % |
Supplier ISO 14001 coverage | 62 % spend | 85 % | 100 % |
Targets are reviewed annually; progress is disclosed in the Sustainability Report (GRI 302/305).
5 · Lifecycle & Circularity Strategy
Design for Environment (DfE) – modular, repairable >8/10 iFixit score; VOC‑free coatings; mandatory LCA gate in PLM.
Material Stewardship – soft‑magnetic powder recovery (>95 % yield), closed‑loop copper recycling, cobalt ASM traceability via RMI.
Take‑Back & EPR – customer return scheme for stators/rotors; compliance with WEEE/Battery Reg; reverse‑logistics handled by DHL GoGreen.
End‑of‑Life Processing – partnership with Urban Mining Co. (USA) and Neomagnet Recycling (EU) for NdFeB hydrometallurgical recovery.
6 · Hazardous Substance Control
Reinventy maintains a Substance Management List (SML) aligned with:
REACH SVHC (>0.1 % w/w)
Proposition 65
GADSL, IEC 62474, IMDS
Suppliers must submit full material declarations via IPC‑1752B; failure triggers non‑conformance procedures.
7 · Energy & Climate Action
Scope 1 – Replace R‑410A chillers with R‑454B; switch to green hydrogen for sintering furnaces by 2028.
Scope 2 – PPAs for wind (187 GWh/yr) and rooftop solar (4 MWp).
Scope 3 – Logistics mode shift 40 % air → sea by 2027; eco‑design reduces magnet mass 20 %.
Carbon accounting follows GHG Protocol with third‑party verification (Lloyd’s Register).
8 · Water & Waste Management
Zero‑Liquid‑Discharge (ZLD) system at Vancouver plant; effluent < 10 mg/L COD.
Powder overspray collected via HEPA 13 filters; target < 20 ppm airborne Fe fines.
Hazardous waste disposed per BCEPA, RCRA Subtitle C.
9 · Supply‑Chain Responsibility
All Tier‑1 suppliers must sign the Supplier Code of Environmental Conduct.
High‑risk minerals (3TG, cobalt, REE) require OECD DDG alignment and RMAP audit evidence.
Annual CSR self‑assessment (SAQ 5.1) and spot audits.
10 · Product Compliance & Labels
CE marking per Low‑Voltage + EMC + RoHS.
UKCA, FCC Part 15, ICES‑003.
China RoHS logo (SJ/T 11364).
Energy rating (ErP Lot 30 future).
EPREL & DoC hosted online.
11 · Monitoring, Reporting & Verification
Monthly KPI dashboard; Eco‑Champions report into CSO.
Annual Sustainability Report (GRI Core, SASB RT‑EE) audited by KPMG.
Whistle‑blower hotline for environmental concerns (ethics@reinventy‑solutions.ca).
12 · Emergency Preparedness & Response
